Mediating For Beginners

I recently discovered meditation and found it to be easy and very relaxing.  I loved how it quieted my busy mind which never seemed to slow down. As a bonus there are a lot of health benefits, some research suggests that meditation may help people manage symptoms of conditions such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Asthma
  • Cancer
  • Chronic pain
  • Depression
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Sleep problems
  • Tension headaches

Mediating For Beginners

The process is the practice, and it goes something like this:

  • Focus
  • Let go
  • Drift in the gap
  • Notice and acknowledge the thoughts resurfacing
  • Refocus
  • Repeat

Lastly, I still like to follow a guided meditation. When following a guided meditation you meditate in response to the guidance provided by someone else. There are a few apps for your phone, one example is Head Space or look on Youtube and search for medications.
