This time of year can be so stressful, the shopping, traveling to see loved ones, the endless parties, and I could go on and on. Shopping for the perfect dress doesn’t have to be stressful too! I wanted to share some tips to help you find that perfect holiday dress.
We all have different body types and most of us fall into one of four types. When we understand our body type and honor it in clothes that are most flattering, suddenly shopping becomes a lot more fun. So as your looking for the perfect holiday dress, keep these things in mind.
Apple Shape: If you’re an apple shape you carry most of your weight in your busts and stomach. This body shape doesn’t have a waist, so it’s essential to create one with your clothes. When shopping for dresses look for these styles; Fit and Flare, Wrap, or Sheath dress.
Hourglass Shape: If you have an hourglass shape, your body type is said to be curvy. Your bust and hips are roughly the same width, and you have a well-defined waist. Wrap dresses and Fit and Flare style will complement your figure nicely.
Pear Shape: If you have a pear-shaped figure, you have smaller arms, bust and have a long torso, and have wider hips. With a pear-shape, you want to show off your arms, back, and slender waist. Look for dresses with a low neckline in an A-Line style, and this style will look great on you.
Athletic or Boy Shape: If you have an athletic shape body, generally your shoulders and hips have the same measurements. Your weight is equally distributed, and you don’t have many curves. Look for dresses that are a halter top or low neckline to play up your bust line. Also, Fit and Flare or A-Line dresses will look the best on this figure. This style creates some curves and a waistline. This is my body type, and I have no waist, so I need my clothes to create one for me. When purchasing dresses for myself, I love the fit and flare style. It creates the curves that I don’t naturally have.
I hope these style tips help you find the perfect holiday dress! With so many options and styles available right now, I am confident you’ll find the perfect one!
