Have you wanted to start shampooing your hair less? Chances are you may be shampooing too often. I used to wash my hair daily and sometimes twice a day. Now I only wash my hair with shampoo every two or three days. It did take a few months to train my hair. Here are a few tips if you want to stretch out the days in between your shampoos.
- Start out slow. If you wash your hair daily, try to go every other day for a few weeks. Once your hair adjusts to your new hair routine, try to go every third day. Make sure to use a good shampoo that doesn’t contain any harmful ingredients. It is hard to find a good shampoo that isn’t full of crap, so if you know of one, let us know in the comments below.
In between shampoos don’t be afraid to just rinse your hair with warm water. If you have curly or coarse hair make sure to add conditioner to the ends
On day two and three pull your hair up into ponytail or updo.
Brush your hair a lot; this will help even out the oil.
Cutting back on shampoo can make your hair softer and healthier. You also are reducing your exposure to harmful chemicals; you’ll have less frizz and better color retention.
